Internal Spline in Bore
Gleason LeCount Pitch Spline Mandrels work on the same principle as the standard mandrels, except that a radiused geometry is ground into the contact surface of the three jaws, and the angular position of the jaws is altered as needed. They can also be made to contact the major and minor diameter of a customer’s splined bore.
Part Locators
The part locator allows the operator to have a support unit for the customer part while loading the mandrel and can position the part on the mandrel in a consistent location for subsequent inspections. A support unit is attached to the mandrel with spring loaded detents. Note that this cannot be attached afterwards, as it must be taken into consideration during manufacturing.
